Local naturalist, Jim Sweeny, will give a brief introduction and then show the movie “The Everglades of the North.” This award-winning documentary reveals the diverse ecology and controversial saga of the Grand Kankakee Marsh—an area of the Midwest that less than a century ago resembled the the swamplands of Florida’s Everglades.
